The german version "Wild about Meat" was made by the Wesermünde Club of rural Women in 1997. It includes more than 300 recipes for starters such as soups and salads as well as main courses. The recipes come from the region, they are popular with their families and typical of Northern Germany. All the dishes are easy to prepare and always turn out well.
The rural women consciously decided to produce a cookery book about meat because they want to stress the characteristics of good quality meat as well as the professional handling of meat in the kitchen. Meanwhile more than 179,000 copies of the book have been sold. This success has motivated the rural women of Wesermünde to have their book translated into English. International guests can now return home with a piece of northern German culture.
